Aeschylus Seven Against Thebes 563

Theodore Alois Buckley (Translator)

The tale pierces my bosom, the locks of my hair stand erect, when I hear of the big words of these proudly-vaunting impious men. Oh! would that the gods would destroy them in the land.

Home to my heart the vaunting goes,

And, quick with terror, on my head
Rises my hair, at sound of those
Who wildly, impiously rave!
If gods there be, to them I plead—
Give them to darkness and the grave.

τάγευσαι, Schol. τάχος steht öfters bei Aschylos wie ως τάχος (bei Sophokles nie ως, ὅ τις ὅσον τάχος).
