καὶ οἳ. . περιναίουσιν (30 Marckscheffel für περιναίετε, wel- ches durch unrichtige Beziehung auf die angeredeten Personen ent- standen ist) zur Abwechslung für καὶ περιναίοντας. Über den Fluß Erasinos vgl. Strab. VIII 371 ἄλλος δὲ ποταμὸς Ερασῖνος ἐν τῇ Αργείᾳ ἐστιν· οὗτος δὲ τὰς ἀρχὰς ἐκ Στυμφάλου τῆς Αρκαδίας λαμβάνει καὶ τῆς ἐκεῖ λίμνης τῆς καλουμένης Στυμφαλίδος δύντα δ᾽ ὑπὸ γῆς φασὶ τὸν ποταμὸν τοῦτον ἐκπίπτειν εἰς τὴν Αργείαν καὶ ποιεῖν ἐπίρρυτον τὸ πεδίον. Von dem unterirdischen Lauf des Erasinos spricht auch Herod. VI 76, Paus. II 24, 7, Ov. Met. XV 275 f., Plin. H. N. II 103. Curtius Pelop. II S. 340:,,Unter dem Höhlen- berge Chaon springt mit reicher Wasserfülle ein Fluß hervor, in welchem die Alten, die den unter- irdischen Wasserverbindungen so aufmerksam nachforschten, einen Abfluß des Stymphalischen Sees erkannten. Nach dieser Ansicht fließt also das Wasser vom Ape- lauron bis zum Chaon 200 Stadien weit durch die dunklen Berggänge um hier als Küstenfluß Erasinos emporzutauchen und in kurzem Laufe die Niederung zu befruchten." Der für geographische Merkwür- digkeiten eingenommene Dichter scheint gerade deshalb den Erasinos zu nennen und auch weil er in der Nähe der Stelle floß, WO die Danaiden ans Land gestiegen sein sollten.
