Drittes Stasimon. Loblied auf Dareios, aus Anlaſs seiner vorausgegangenen Erschei- nung. Glück und Gröfse des per- sischen Reichs unter ihm. Seine Verdienste werden vor dem Auf- treten des Xerxes noch einmal ver- gegenwärtigt, des Kontrastes wegen. Zugleich erhalten so seine Rat- schläge (790 ff. 824 ff.) doppeltes Gewicht. Altertümlicher Charakter, epische Aufzählung, auch viele epi- sche Formen und Wendungen, so- wie das Maſs überwiegend dakty- lisch und altertümlich einfach, in der Weise des Stesichoros. Vgl.
