Kommos, welcher den Rächer weckt (vgl. 326 f.) und die Motive der Handlung entwickelt zur Ermutigung und Stärkung des Orestes (510 ἐπειδὴ δρᾶν κατώρθωσαι φρενί). Derselbe wird durch eine anapästische Partie des Koryphaios eingeleitet und durch eine solche geschlossen und besteht aufserdem aus vier Teilen. Die erste Partie (314-421) zerfällt durch ein anapästisches System des Koryphaios (371-378) in zwei symmetrische Teile, deren Mitte wieder anapästische Systeme des Chorführers einnehmen, die sich entsprechen (339 - 343 = 399 - 403), während zu beiden Seiten eine Strophe des Orestes und eine Antistrophe der Elektra stehen, die auf der einen Seite durch eine Strophe, auf der anderen durch eine Antistrophe des Chors getrennt werden. ' ὤτων κέλαδον ἐνσείσας θοαῖς πώλοις). Der dem bildlichen Ausdruck zu Grunde liegende Gedanke ist: Die Hilfe der Toten und der Hafs der Lebenden richtet sich wie eine Doppelgeifsel gegen die Mörder; schon hört man das Klatschen dieser Geifsel d. h. schon naht die w Rache, welche aus dem Zusammenwirken der Lebenden und Toten hervorgeht. Für ἤδη erwartet man ζῶσιν wie Soph. Εl. 1419 ζώσιν οἱ γᾶς ὑπαὶ κείμενοι. Vgl. Εum. 601, Soph. Εl. 453 γῆθεν εὐμενῆ ἡμῖν ἀρωγὸν αὐτὸν εἰς ἐχθροὺς μολείν. Die Wirksamkeit der Toten offenbart der böse Traum der Klytämestra, vgl. Soph. El. 459 ff. , 472 ff.
