ihr junges Leben galt der Kampfbegierde

Der Vater

Wohl hatte sie Kraft und Besinnung verloren;

sie knebelten sorglich den schwellenden Mund,
auf daß kein Fluch ihm entführe.
Die Fessel hielt. Stumm und starr lag sie da.
Vom Busen riß rohe Faust das Safrankleid.

O queen, I come in reverence of thy sway—
For, while the ruler's kingly seat is void,
The loyal heart before his consort bends.
Now—be it sure and certain news of good,
Or the fair tidings of a flatt'ring hope,
315
That bids thee spread the light from shrine to shrine,
I, fain to hear, yet grudge not if thou hide.

dedit Blomfieldius, id habere dicens marg. Ask. et Musgr. Puto hanc coniecturam esse Askewii et Musgravii. Libri enim
, quod scholiastes interpretatur
. Non opus est
scribere: sed
, quod libri habent, ad
appositum languet. Id Schützius recte in
. Sed in
, quod etiam Pearsono in
δέ
, sed
τέ
post
scriptum esse. Nam
δέ
si legeretur, requireretur verbum pro nomine
, veluti
, ut in Ione Euripidis v. 1144.
. Nunc vero,
τέ
posito,
etiam ad sequentia refertur. Excepit flammam Athos et vis flammae altissime eminens, ut more collustraret, luxuriante pinu. Significat enim
ut pro lubitu luxuriaretur flamma. Mox
Bess.

videtur appellatus fuisse, si recte editum est
. Blomfieldius
scripsit, vix dubium esse ratus quin

. At
absonum foret, quia sic quod sequitur

erstes Epeisodion.
