Den das Vorhergehende begründenden Gedanken „so grofs ist das Maſs der von ihm dem Hause verursachten Leiden" kann Klyt. nicht aussprechen, ohne triumphierend hinzuzufügen „aber er hat dafür gebüfst". Zu dem bildlichen Ausdruck vgl. Aristoph. Ach. 937 κρατὴρ κακῶν, Dionys. Hal. VII 44 κρατῆρα αἵματος πολιτικοῦ στῆσαι. στήσας wie in der eben a. St. und στήσασθαι κρητῆρα Hom. ẞ 431, Z 528 u. a.
