Der Threnos besteht aus 7 Strophenpaaren nebst προ- ῳδὸς und ἐπωδός. Über seine me- trische Anlage s. S. 101 ff. u. West- phal II S. 427 f. Sein melischer Charakter ist sogleich sehr bemerk- bar gemacht durch den stark aus- Προῳδός. Στρ. α΄. geprägten dorischen Dialekt (A- Laut, vgl. 679) und die freie Be- handlung der Anapäste. - ἐγγαίαν Suppl. 59. Pubem occisam a Xerxe, Orcum Persis implente. Die Form κτάμενος (mit passiver Be- deutung) homerisch. Αιδου σά- κτορι Περσᾶν Κr. 47, 9. Α. 6. Dolus ist dem Xerxes damit nicht vorge- worfen, und Tadel des Xerxes hat der Chor schon bisher oft genug ausgesproche chen. ἀδοβάται, ναι. das von Aristophanes (frg. 198) gebildete ᾅδοφοίτης. τοξοδά- μαντες, 26.30.
