Spezifikation der aus- gezogenen Generale und Völker, in epischer Weise. Die Namen nicht alle genau persisch, sondern nach ungefährem Klange gebildet. ( τὰ μὲν τῶν ὀνομάτων ἱστόρησεν, τὰ δὲ τελείως ἔπλασεν Schol.). Vgl. zu 302. Ihre Häufung erweckte in den Hörern immer von neuem das frohe Gefühl des Sieges. Τ. 21-28. Αρταφρένης Άρτα 778. Ein Führer der Lyder und Myser Αρτ. bei Herod. VII 74. Μεγαβάτης: Namen dieser Art bei Herod. VII 82. 97. – Αστάσπης: ein Υστάσπης Herod. VII 64. σοῦνται vgl. Suppl. 836. Sept. 31. Das epische τ' ἠδέ findet sich bei Äschylos noch zweimal um des Versmaſses willen (996.
