Heftig erwidern die Da- naiden die vorhergehenden ihnen unangenehmen Worte der Diene- rinnen. ἀπαλέξαι: wenn es nicht ursprünglich απαλέξοι geheißen hat, so stellt sich diese Aoristform neben die Futurform ἀλέξομαι, welche sich z. B. Soph. O. T. 171, 539 findet. Beide Formen beruhen, wie etwa die Form,,frug", auf falscher Ana- logie; die richtigen Formen sind ἀλεξήσω( ομαι), ἠλέξησα( άμην). Die Form ἀπαλέξασθαι ist auch Soph. Ai. 166 überliefert und ἀλέξασθαι findet sich schon bei Homer, wenn die Überlieferung richtig ist ( άλε- ξέμεναι? ἀλέξεσθαι?). Als Aorist- form könnte hier ἀπαλάκοι stehen. Mit γάμον Αἰγυπτογενῆ (Verheira- tung mit den Sprossen des Ägyp- tos) vgl. Ausdrücke wie γάμον δυσάνορα 1074, γυναικοπληθὴς ὅμιλος Pers. 126, γηγενῆ μάχην Eur. Ion τετρασκελῆ κενταυροπληθῆ πόλεμον Heraklid. 1272.
