Aeschylus Supplices 556

Theodore Alois Buckley (Translator)

She arrives, driven along by the sting of the winged herdsman, at the divine all-fostering grove, the snow-fed mead, and on which comes [with] 3 the might of Typho, the water of Nile untouched by diseases, maddened by her ignominious toils, and by the stinging pains of raging Juno.

And thence, deep-stung by wild unrest,
By the winged fly that goaded her and drave,
Unto the fertile land, the god-possest,

Urged on by Typho's strength, a fertilizing wave),
She roves, in harassed and dishonoured flight,
Scathed by the blasting pangs of Hera's dread despite.
