2. This date is also given (incorrectly) as that of the announcement in Rome of Aurelian's death; see Aur., xii. 3. In this instance it is also incorrect, since Florian was killed in the summer (probably August) of 276 ; see note to Tac, xiv. 2. There is no record of any consul named Scorpianus in 276.
