1. 13. ‘as to..' is perhaps equivalent to ‘from doing': cf. lvi. 2, c., and second part of this verse.
2. 1. Lit. ‘shortened from saving': some render, ‘too short to save' similarly the second clause.
3. 4. ‘sueth’ : or, ‘proclaimeth’: ‘in (or, with)
4. 6. Or, ‘neither shall any’ (indef.) cover themselves,' c
5. 10. ‘vigorous’: dubious: some take the word as literally=fat, lusty: some render ‘in fruitful places,' others, ‘in dark places ’ (in caliginosis, Vulg.).
6. 11. Heb. intersifies by repeating the verb 'moan.
7. 12. ‘testify’: verb in singular: ‘are a witness,' or possibly ‘(each) testify...
8. 13. 'revolt,' lit. departure: ‘uttering,’ or 'muttering,' as ver. 3.
9. 14. Or, ‘thrust backward.
10. 15. ‘maketh...a prey’: or, ‘giveth himself to be
