Das erste System spri spricht von der Trauer, in welche das ganze persische Reich durch die schlimme Nachricht gestürzt ist; das zweite hebt in dieser Beziehung insbesondere das weibliche Ge- schlecht ( γυναικοπλ. ὅμιλος, 122), das dritte die Gattinnen der Gefal- lenen hervor (vgl. 13. 63f. 122 ff. 289. 579ff.), und schliefst mit dem Ge- danken, daſs auch der Chor (zu- gleich der Vertreter der greisen Väter) an dem allgemeinen Schmerz teilnehme, was er denn durch sein Lied bethätigt.
