Unaufhaltsam ist das Heer der Perser und nach mensch- licher Berechnung kann ihm nie- mand widerstehen, wie man nie- manden zutrauen kann, daſs er durch starke Dämme die unbe- zwingliche Hochflut des Meeres zurückhalte. Der Dichter hat Gleich- nis und eigentlichen Ausdruck ohne Vermittlung verbunden.
