Timaeus

1. There is a play here on the words ἥμερον ( mild)... ἡμέρας ( day); Cf. Cratyl. 418 C.
2. Vision is explained on the principle that like is known by like: a fire-stream issuing from the eye meets a fire-stream coming from the object of vision ( Cf. the view of Empedocles).
