Notes on the current edition

Ab Urbe Condita With An English Translation, books 1-10, 21-45, with periochae 11-20

1. Livy says nothing on his own authority about the campaigns of Postumius, and gives no reasons for his doubt of the accuracy of the accounts which he has just quoted. In his zeal to refute them he overlooks the fact that this was the second summer of Postumius in Spain, and that even in the first summer he had arrived there earlier than Gracchus (xxxix. 3 above).
