Ab Urbe Condita With An English Translation, books 1-10, 21-45, with periochae 11-20

1. This translation preserves what seems to be the soundest text of the sentence. It is, however, strange that Livy has not given in detail the formation of the Rhodian line, as he has that of the Macedonian. All conjectures intended to meet this objection are unreasonably bold.
