Ἀπολλώνιος δὲ ὁ τὰ Ἀργοναυτικά· II 1246. 1248—1250. ἀλυκτοπέδαις πλεονασμῷ τοῦ κ, τουτέστι δεσμοῖς, ὧν οὐκ ἔστι λυθῆναι. ἰστέον, ὅτι ἧπαρ λέγεται παρὰ πολλοῖς ἡ εὔκαρπος γῆ. Ἀετὸς δὲ ποταμὸς τῆς χώρας Προμηθέως, ὃς ὀξέως κατιὼν ἄφνω ἥρπαζε τὴν γῆν πᾶσαν τῶν ἀγρῶν [Προμηθέως del. W] καὶ ἐδείπνει (W, ἐδαπάνα AB). τοῦτόν τε Ἡρακλῆς τὸν ποταμὸν διορύξας δι’ ἑτέρων τόπων ἐξωχέτευσεν καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν. καὶ ἔμεινεν ὁ μῦθος, ὡς Ἡρακλῆς τὸν ἀετὸν ἐκώλυσε τοξεύσας τοῦ τὸ ἧπαρ ἐσθίειν Προμηθέως. cf.
