276. ἠὲ καὶ οὐ· πουλὺς γὰρ ἄδην:
ἢ γὰρ ἐκλελοίπασι τινες τῶν πόλεων κἂν μετονομασμέναι [καὶ] ἀγνοοῦνται, ὑφ’ οὗ τυγχάνουσιν ἐκτισμέναι· τούτου δὲ τὸν χρόνον αἴτιον γεγενῆσθαι. περὶ δὲ τῶν χρόνων, καθ’ οὓς ἐγένετο Σεσόγχωσις, ὁ μὲν Ἀπολλώνιός φησι πουλὺς γὰρ ἄδην ἐπενήνοθεν αἰών, Δικαίαρχος δὲ ἐν α' (v. sch. 272/74) μετὰ τὸν Ἴσιδος καὶ Ὀσίριδος Ὦρον βασιλέα γεγονέναι Σεσόγχωσιν. γίνεται δὲ ἀπὸ Σεσογχώσεως ἐπὶ τὴν Νείλου βασιλείαν ἔτη ,βφ', 〈ἀπὸ δὲ τῆς Νείλου βασιλείας ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰλίου ἅλωσιν Ζ',〉 ἀπὸ δὲ τῆς Ἰλίου ἁλώσεως ἐπὶ τὴν α' Ὀλυμπιάδα υλγ', ὁμοῦ ,βϠμγ'.
276. Or even not; for abundant enough: For either some of the cities have been abandoned and, having been renamed, are unknown, by whom they happen to have been founded; and time has been the cause of this. Concerning the times in which Sesonchosis lived, Apollonius says "for abundant enough time has passed," but Dicaearchus in the first book (see sch. 272/74) says that Sesonchosis was king after Horus, the son of Isis and Osiris. From Sesonchosis to the reign of Neilos is 2,500 years, from the capture of Troy to the first Olympiad 433, in total 2,943.
