2. 18 Et. Gen. (AB) ἀλυκτοπέδῃσι: ... Apollonius, the author of the Argonautica: II 1246. 1248-1250. ἀλυκτοπέδαις by pleonasm of κ, that is, bonds from which one cannot be freed. One must know that liver is said by many to be the fruitful earth. Eagle is a river of the land of Prometheus, which rushing down swiftly suddenly snatched away all the earth of the fields [Προμηθέως deleted by W] and devoured it (W, ἐδαπάνα AB). Heracles dug through this river and diverted it through other places and turned it away. And the myth remained that Heracles stopped the eagle by shooting it from eating the liver of Prometheus. cf.
