Notes on the current edition

The Epistle of Barnabas

1. Is. 58, 4, 5
2. Is. 58, 6-10
3. ἱμάτια ℵ* CL, ἱάματα ℵ Corr. (healings) (LXX). This correction, which Lightfoot accepts, is no doubt what Barnabas meant, but the MSS. evidence suggests that it is not what he wrote.
4. ἐπήλυτοι ℵ, προσήλυτοι C, proselytae L; the use of the words in Philo suggests that they both mean proselytes, so that the evidence of L is ambiguous.
