[5] On the way to the coast of Mykalessos is a sanctuary of Mycalessian Demeter. They say that each night it is shut up and opened again by Hēraklēs, and that Hēraklēs is one of what are called the Idaean Dactyls. Here is shown the following marvel. Before the feet of the image they place all the fruits of autumn, and these remain fresh throughout all the year.
