1. This Nicopolis (“Victory City”) was founded by Augustus Caesar in commemoration of his victory over Antony and Cleopatra at Actium in 31 B.C. See 7. 7. 5.
2. Amaxiki, now in ruins.
3. An error either of Strabo or of the MSS. “Stratus” and “Alyzia” should exchange places in the sentence.
