Ἀποκηρυττόμενος

1. πλῆθος This word, which has perhaps elicited more conjectures than any other in Lucian, is right. Its use as a synonym of πληθώρα, though not recognised in the dictionaries, is abundantly documented in Galen; e.g., De San. Tuenda, IV, 2, 13: τοῦ τοιούτου πλήθους ὃ δὴ καὶ πληθώραν ὀνομάζουσι.
