[145] 26 Τοιοῦτον ἦν καὶ τὸ „ἐξ αὐτῆς“· τὸ δὲ τρίτον, ὃ δὴ „τέκνον“ ἐλέγετο, νῦν διασκεψώμεθα. πρῶτον μὲν τοίνυν ἄξιον θαυμάσαι τὸ μὴ
πολλὰ τέκνα φάναι δώσειν, ἓν δὲ χαριεῖσθαι μόνον. διὰ τί δέ; ὅτι τὸ καλὸν οὐκ ἐν πλήθει μᾶλλον ἢ δυνάμει πέφυκεν ἐξετάζεσθαι.
