[173] 42 εἰ δ’ ὥσπερ ἐν δικαστηρίῳ μὴ μόνον ταῖς ἐντέχνοις ἀποδείξεσιν, ἀλλὰ καὶ ταῖς ἀτέχνοις λεγομέναις χρηστέον, ὧν μία ἐστὶν ἡ διὰ τῶν μαρτυριῶν, πολλοὺς καὶ εὐδοκίμους μαρτυροῦντας παρεξόμεθα
παῖδας ἰατρῶν καὶ φιλοσόφων, οὐ λόγοις μόνον ἀλλὰ καὶ γράμμασι τὴν μαρτυρίαν σημαινομένους.
