Scythians whom he was pursuing doubled north and turned back into
Scythia (region (general)), AsiaScythia. Then, when they had altogether vanished and were no longer within the
Persians' sight,
Darius left those forts only half finished, and he too doubled about and marched west, thinking that those
Scythians were the whole army, and that they were fleeing toward the west.
