Hunt states that φαίην ἄν is more suitable to the conditions than ἔφην ἄν, and suggests some such context as αἰναῖσι... φρενῶν ( δαιμόνων)... νόσοις, adding however that ἂν φρενῶν cannot both be read. In 236 the first five letters after the gap are doubtful, and ἔτι ποεῖτ' is hardly satisfactory. ἐπτοεῖτ', which Hunt reluctantly gives up, is said to be inconsistent with the remains.
