mvp-comment-934-2 The v.l. πτωχὸς for ξένος doubtless arose from a feeling that the word repeated should be that which immediately preceded μέν (cp. on 5

): but
πτωχοὶ καὶ ξένοι
forms one notion, in which
ξένοι
is the more important element.
