1047. mvp-comment-673-1 σὲ φωνῶ, κ.τ.λ.] φωνῶ is here used with the construction of ἐννέπω, O. T. 350, ἐννέπω σὲ . . ἐμμένειν.

1048. mvp-comment-674-1 συγκομίζειν] Το 'bring home'; a metaphor from the harvest-field, the dead body being 'like a shock of corn.' Or, to speak more accurately, the same general meaning of the word applies to both cases, without our necessarily supposing any conscious metaphor. Cp. Eur. H. F. 1422, ἀλλ᾽ ἐσκόμιζε τέκνα δυσκόμιστα γῇ.
