μετὰ ἄγους ἐκόμισαν
). But the fact that L has
καθήγνισαν
must be set against these doubtful testimonies.—For the irony, cp. El. 1487
πρόθες | ταφεῦσιν, ὧν τόνδ’ εἰκός ἐστι τυγχάνειν
(as Gorgias called vultures
