Wie bald, o Jungfrau'n - seht ihr es? wie sich so
810
Erfüllen die Gottesorakel bald
Aus dem Mund der alten Weisheit,
Welche verhießen, sobald der zwölfte Sommer ihm
Schwand in der Monde Geleit, erreiche seiner Müh'n
Ende der Sohn des Zeus! Und solches schreitet
815
Unverrückt dem Ziele zu.
Nimmer ja bedrängt, nimmer,
Den Geschiedenen, der sein Auge schloß,
Arbeit und Drangsal.
Erste Gegenstrophe.
