Precepts of Statecraft

1. Plato, Republic, 416 e.
2. Two famous statues. The doryphorus (spear-bearer) was by Polycleitus.
3. The prizes at the Olympic, Pythian, Isthmian, and Nemean games were crowns of wild olive, laurel, pine, and parsley respectively.
