Crassus

1. ἀλλά. Before this sentence the words φεῦ τῆς ὑπομενῆς, οὐδὲ τὴν πενίαν ὁ τλήμων ἀδιάφορον ἡγούμενος were early stricken from the text as a gloss ( oh, the patience of the poor fellow! for his philosophy did not regard poverty as a thing indifferent).
