1. αὐτὸν ἔπειτα codd.: corr. Diels.
2. ἀρούρας Clem. Tzetz. Chil. 906.
3. ποιεῖσθαι Cobet.
4. After φησι two MSS. add Ποταμίλλα, which Diels explains as the corruption of a marginal scholion recording a variant other copies read ποταμόν. The reading ποταμὸν ἄλλα is actually found in two MSS.
5. δ’ ἄλλων codd.: δαιταλέων conj. Apelt.
6. After αὐτὸνDiels proceeds: 〈ἔν〉 τε τῇ πολιτείᾳ 〈καὶ ἐν τῇ ποιήσει· ὅπου μὲν γὰρ μέτριον καὶ ἐπιεικῆ〉 φαίνεσθαι, ὅπου δὲ ἀλαζόνα καὶ φίλαυτον [ἐν τῇ ποιήσει]· φησὶ γοῦν κτλ.
