Lives of Eminent Philosophers

1. We should say, An old bird is not caught with chaff.
2. Von Arnim’s emendation ( ὁ δὲ) gives a different turn to the story, viz. And this besides: Heraclides is ignorant of letters. This made Heraclides blush.
